My brother was the first person I ever lost. The day after he died, we went to funeral homes, and I remember I was so surprised by the fact that he just died and we were already planning his funeral. We informed everyone the day it happened and we started the first day of “La Novena,” which is a religious tradition. I’ve never knew or participated in a Novena, funeral plannings, and a bunch of other funeral related things. Every time we went to the cemetery, I was always driven by someone in my family, but I always dozed off on the way there so I never memorized the route. One time, no one was available and I wanted to go so I had to put the GPS on. I never realized that one day I wouldn’t need a GPS to get there. The first time it happened, I bawled my eyes out when I got there because it was a route I never thought I’d have to memorize just to see my brother.
